New Foxtel Now streaming service gives viewers easier access to their favourite content

Foxtel has just unveiled a dramatic revamp and reimagining of its internet-delivered pay TV service which will give subscribers a more affordable way to access their favourite content and sport.

Foxtel Now is a streaming service – a reinvention of Foxtel Play – with low priced bundles to give customers even more flexibility.

There are no set up costs and, because the service is delivered through your broadband connection, you won’t need a set-top box.

You are not locked in to a contract so you can cancel anytime.

Foxtel Now will offer high definition streaming on compatible devices like Macs and PCs using the Google Chrome browser and Telstra TV along with the ability to stream Foxtel Now to your big screen using Google Chromecast.

Additional devices will be updated soon including PlayStation 3 and 4, the Xbox One and select smart TVs via the Foxtel Play app – but it will only be in standard definition.

“Foxtel Now is here and we’re thrilled to share it with customers hungry for the best choice in live sport, new movies, TV and complete seasons,” said Foxtel CEO Peter Tonagh.

“Over the past few months we’ve introduced some fantastic new changes to our subscription streaming service including lowering the entry point to $10 per month and launching on Telstra TV.

“As part of the evolution of our streaming service, we felt the time was perfect to relaunch the service as Foxtel Now.

“Foxtel Now represents our most flexible and affordable entertainment service and brings with it HD streaming, a great new look and feel and the freedom to jump in and out based on your viewing preferences.”

Foxtel Now has five entry level packs to match customer tastes including the Drama and Pop packs priced at $15 each per month or $25 for both.

Other packs like Lifestyle, Docos and Kids packs are $10 each.

HBO’s award-winning Game of Thrones is aired on the Showcase channel which is part of both the Drama pack and Pops pack so you can watch the upcoming Season 7, due to arrive in July, for only $15 per month.

Foxtel Now’s Movie Pack is $20 a month when bundled with an entry level pack

If you’re a sports fan the Sports Pack is available for an extra $29 per month.

So, if it’s just sports you want, you can enjoy all the sports programming for as little a $39 a month (after it is bundled with a $10 entry level pack).

Subscribers will have access to all linear services in the tier they’ve chosen as well as access to on-demand content and mobile and tablet access via the smartphone and tablet app.

Customers can try Foxtel Now for free on a two-week trial.
