Apple has released a new app for iPhone – Apple Invites – which makes it easy for users to create customised invitations for their family and friends.
With Apple Invites it’s not only easy to create the invitation but it also share the invitations, gather RSVP and even contribute to shared albums and share Apple Music playlists.
Apple Invite is available free from the App Store or it can be accessed through the web icloud.com/invites.
iCloud+ subscribers can create invitations which anyone can view an RSVP even if they don’t have an Apple account or an Apple device.
“With Apple Invites, an event comes to life from the moment the invitation is created, and users can share lasting memories even after they get together,” said Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple’s senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud.
“Apple Invites brings together capabilities our users already know and love across iPhone, iCloud, and Apple Music, making it easy to plan special events.”
Users can choose from the app’s gallery of backgrounds or an image from their photo library to find the right image for the occasion or theme of the gathering.
It even integrates with Maps and Weather so guests not only know the forecast for the day but can also find directions to the location.
Invitees can also add photos and videos to the dedicated Share Album within the invite to create a record of the event and preserve the memories.
Users with access to Apple Intelligence can also use it to create unique invitations by tapping into the built in Image Playground experience to come up with original images.
It’s also possible to use writing tools to craft the invitation to suit the occasion.
Hosts can view and manage the event, share invitations with a link and review the list of RSVPs.
Guests can view the invitation and respond using the new iPhone app or on the web even if they don’t have an iCloud+ subscription or an Apple account.
Attendees also have full control about how much detail they share with others and can easily leave or report an event at any time.
Apple Invites is available now as a free download from the App Store for all iPhones running iOS 18.
