iDTV lets you watch TV anywhere on your Android device

idtvandroid4Now Android smartphone and tablet owners can turn their device into a TV with the new iDTV USB digital tuner and watch their favourite shows on the go.

The small dongle has a loop aerial and is like a mini digital TV tuner that fits into the microUSB port of the latest Android devices.

Users can then download the free iDTV app and simply search for channels. We had the best reception outside and were able to watch the high definition channels anywhere.

The Sony 4K story - from lens to lounge room

4K has four times the resolution of full high definition and offers incredible sharpness, detail and realism that's as good as the cinema.

In fact the difference between full HD and 4K is a much larger jump than the move from SD to HD and the result is an amazing increase in the level of detail and clarity.

Sony home theatre system puts you at the game without the commentators

sonybdspeakers4Sony’s next Blu-ray home theatre speaker system will make sports fans feel like they’re in the stadium and can also remove the commentators from the broadcast.

The Sony N9100W, which will be released in Australia in the next month, is a 1000W 5.1ch home theatre speaker system that features an all-new Football Mode.

In this mode the ambient noises are piped through the surround speakers to make viewers feel like they are sitting in the sporting stadium watching a live game.

Samsung's ultra high definition S9 TV - yours for $40,000

samsungces4Samsung has unveiled its Rolls Royce of televisions – the 85-inch Ultra High Definition S9 – and it’s all yours for a cool $40,000.

The luxurious S9 has four times the resolution of a regular full high definition TV at 3840 x 2160 and is framed in a gallery stand which also happens to house the TV’s speakers.

Samsung is realistic that the TV is not for everyone but says there are a number of customers lining up to purchase it.

Panasonic reveals new 2013 range of plasma and LED TVs

pana13thumbPanasonic has revealed its new 2013 range of televisions – 25 in total made up of six plasma models and 19 LED models – and all boasting the latest smart features.

The flagship VT60 Full HD 3D Neo Plasma ($5499) will be available in late June and offers a host of new and improved features.

These include networking and device connectivity such as Swipe and Share 2.0 and VIERA Connect.

TCL proves it can play with the big brands at CES

LG Laser TV projector beams 100-inch picture sitting 56cm from screen

lglasertvOne of the more impressive products at the Consumer Electronics Show would have to be the LG Laser TV – a projector than can beam a 100-inch image from just 56cm away from the screen.

Tech Guide took a closer look at the product on the LG stand at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.

The Laser TV short throw projector defies the usual rules when it comes to regular projectors.
