Toshiba unveils Kira the luxury laptop

kira1Toshiba has released Kira - a new luxury ultrabook computer – which is crafted from premium materials and sporting a sleek design.

The company has combined design and performance to make a statement and provide customers with a “top shelf” option.

The Windows 8 device has a 13.3-inch ultra high resolution PixelPure display, a backlit keyboard and Harman Kardan stereo speakers.

ASUS Transformer AiO is a desktop PC and tablet in one

asusaio3ASUS has released a versatile new desktop Windows 8 PC – the Transformer AiO – which is a standalone PC and a tablet as well thanks to its detachable screen.

At first glance the Transformer AiO (All in One) looks like every other desktop computer with an 18.4-inch screen, desktop stand, keyboard and mouse.

But, thanks to the handle built into the back of the ASUS Transformer AiO, the screen can be lifted off the stand to be used as a tablet.

Panasonic releases new range of rugged Windows 8 devices

toughbookg1Panasonic has launched two new Windows 8 devices – both of which are designed to be compact and robust enough to use anywhere.

The first is the FZ-G1 Toughpad - Australia’s lightest and thinnest fully rugged tablet.

The next is the CF-AX2 Toughbook – a convertible Ultrabook that has also been given a rugged design to handle the day-to-day bumps and scrapes.

Logitech releases the K310 washable keyboard

k310logitech4Logitech’s new K310 keyboard is so durable it can easily handle drink spills and all the crumbs from your lunch and can actually be washed in the kitchen sink.

The K310 has a thin and sleek profile and connects to your computer with a USB cable.

It has a six-row keyboard layout with white keys that are laser printed and even UV coated so they don’t fade.

Tech Guide's hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8

gnote84Tech Guide has had a hand-on look at the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet which was unveiled as part of the Samsung Experience Store opening in Melbourne.

The device looks like an oversized version of the Galaxy Note II and maintains similar design and styling.

The wi-fi version of the Galaxy Note 8 tablet will be priced at $459 when it goes on sale in Australia in early to mid April.

Samsung targets education market with Galaxy Note 10.1

weg3Samsung has got its eye firmly on schools and education in its bid to grow its share of the rapidly growing tablet market with the Galaxy Note 10.1.

Samsung this week partnered with the World Education Games which ran for three days among more than 5.9 million students from more than 6,200 schools worldwide.

There were 1200 students from schools across Sydney selected to compete for Australia at the Samsung Stadium at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney.

HP's OfficeJet X is so fast it's in the Guinness Book of Records

hpx3HP’s new OfficeJet Pro X is so fast it has been recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s fastest desktop printer.

With speeds of up to 70 pages per minute (ppm), the HP OfficeJet Pro X is designed for home offices and small and medium businesses and has twice the speed of laser printers as well as half the cost.

The device achieves its high speeds thanks to HP’s new PageWide technology which can deliver four colours of pigment ink at once on a moving sheet of paper.
