Kogan launches world's first Android 4.2 smart TV

androidtv1Kogan has just released the world’s first 42-inch 3D LED full high definition smart TV running the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Priced at just $449, the Kogan 42-inch Agora 3D smart TV offers users easy access to online content and entertainment along with their favourite apps and games.

Users will also be able to interact with their friends on social networks using the Kogan TV.

Ewan McGregor the new face of LG smart TVs

ewanlgthumbEwan McGregor has been revealed as the new face of the LG smart TV range after a launch in a luxury Darling Point mansion overlooking Sydney Harbour.

LG outlined its plans for the smart TV market and stated it was taking things up a notch with a new range of ultra high definition TVs and a stunning curved OLED display.

McGregor, star of more than 50 films including the Star Wars prequels, The Impossible, Angels and Demons and Black Hawk Down, will star in two LG TV commercials and will also appear in the LG print campaign.

Foxtel Go app comes to Android - but only on Samsung devices

foxtelgo4The popular Foxtel Go app will finally land on Android devices on June 3 but it will only be accessible on Samsung devices after an exclusive partnership with Foxtel until the end of October.

Foxtel Go was first released on the iPad last year and earlier this year on the iPhone with Android users waiting anxiously to get their own version.

The app allows Foxtel subscribers to view live and catch up content on the iPhone and iPad.

LG and Samsung surprise CES crowds with curved OLED TV screens

Neither of the competitive Korean companies mentioned a curved prototype screen in their respective press conferences a day earlier.

But the secret 55-inch screens that have a noticeable concave shape were on display beside the regular flat OLED models which will go on sale in Australia later this year.
