Sony releases teaser video for PlayStation 4

ps4logoSony has released a teaser video for the new PlayStation 4 ahead of its unveiling which is expected to take place on June 10 in Los Angeles.

The 39-second video shows flashes of close-ups of the product which has been the subject of much speculation since the original announcement in February.

At that event there was a lot of talk about the PlayStation 4 and its capabilities but we didn't actually get to see it.

Activision announces the latest Call of Duty instalment

callofdutyghostsActivision has announced the next instalment in the successful Call of Duty franchise will be released on November 5 from the developer that kicked it all off - Infinity Ward.

We’re not going to see Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 which most were expecting but rather Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Call of Duty: Ghosts promises an all-new first-person shooter experience with a new world, a new story and new characters.

Sony introduces PlayStation 4 but won't show us what it looks like

ps4logoSony has announced the new PlayStation 4, which includes several exciting new features, but without revealing what the product actually looks like.

The only part of the device revealed at the special event held in New York was the new DualShock 4 controller which has a more rounded appearance, a touchpad and a headphone jack.

Sony says the new PlayStation 4 will be available to US customers before the end of 2013 but there was no word on whether Australia would be in included in that first release wave.

Sony introduces new colours for the PlayStation 3

ps3redSony Computer Entertainment Australia has introduced two new colours to the PlayStation 3 – Azurite Blue and Garnet Red – to add a bit of colour to your gaming.

The new colourful consoles will be available on February 21 and will have the smaller and slimmer form PS3 factor which was unveiled in September last year.

Each system will include two controllers and will be available from select retailers for a limited time.

Sony likely to unveil PlayStation 4 on February 20

ps4thumbSony has identified February 20 as the date for a major announcement with rumours suggesting the day will be the unveiling of the new PlayStation 4.

Sony says we will “see the future” at the special event which will be held in New York.

Also released with news of the announcement by Sony was a 45 second teaser video which leaves little doubt the company’s next generation gaming console is on its way.

Nintendo's new Wii U console is now on sale

wiiu1Nintendo’s new Wii U console is now on sale across Australia after midnight store openings across the country where eager customers wanted to be the first to get their hands on it.

The new Wii U allows users to play the game on their high definition TV with a secondary screen on the GamePad controller.

And even if you can’t play the game on the TV you can also play the game just in on the GamePad.

PlayStation 3 exceeds 70 million sales worldwide

ps31thumbPlayStation 3 sales have crossed the 70 million mark worldwide less than six years after the Sony high definition gaming console first went on sale.

One of Sony’s latest products, the PlayStation Move controller, has also notched up more than 15 million sales since its introduction two years ago.

Since it was introduced in 2006, the PS3 has undergone a few makeovers with latest introduced a couple of months ago and half the size of the original.
