The new ASUS Fonepad is a 7-inch tablet with a difference – it has built-in 3G connectivity and can even make voice calls in the go.
The Intel Atom -powered device will be priced from $329 when it goes on sale in Australia in early June.
Running Android’s 4.1 operating system, the ASUS Fonepad has a high definition 7-inch display, 1GB RAM and a 1.3-megapixel front camera and 3-megapixel rear camera which can record 720p video.
Apple tops the list of global brands again

Apple has again topped the charts in the of the Top 100 rankings of the most valuable brands with four Australian companies also making the list.
In fact, technology companies held the top three positions.
Apple were followed by Google in second place while IBM came in third on the list which was created after a study conducted by Millward Brown Optimor.
Apple's App Stores hits 50 billion downloads

Apple has officially crossed the 50 billion download mark on the App Store less than five years after opening back in 2008.
The countdown began two weeks ago and Apple offered a $US10,000 App Store gift card to the lucky person who downloaded the 50 billionth app. The winner has yet to be announced.
Apple changed the home page of its website to announce the milestone with a picture of an iPad Mini and a user writing the word thanks on the screen using the Paper by Fifty Three drawing and painting app.

Sony’s new Xperia Tablet Z, which has same durable and waterproof features of the Xperia Z smartphone, is now available for pre-order ahead of a June 6 release.
The Xperia Tablet Z is the world’s thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablet and is powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine for enhanced colour reproduction on the full high definition 1920 x 1200 resolution screen.
Running the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the Xperia Tablet Z weighs just 495g and is just 6.9mm thick.
Tech issues and downtime cost businesses $1 billion annually

Time is money and if you’re technology isn't working it can cost businesses $1 billion dollars annually in downtime and lost productivity, a new report reveals.
A productivity study, conducted by Dick Smith among more than 500 respondents, found that 71 million hours are wasted on technical issues like paper jams, printer and photocopier issues and computer crashes.
The research showed a typical white collar worker can wasted up to two working weeks a year dealing with technology problems with one fifth saying they’ve spent an entire day to solve the problem at hand.

Apple adds new flash storage options to iMac

Apple has added more flash storage options to its latest iMac to give customers even more options to customise the company’s latest desktop computer.
When the new iMac was released in late 2012 it included an all-new Fusion drive which combined the traditional hard disk drive with the faster solid-state drive.
There was also a 756GB all flash option along with standalone 1TB and 3TB hard disk drives as well.
Connected Australians still struggle to find work/life balance

Australians connected to technology for between eight and 16 hours every day but are still struggling to find a suitable work/life balance, according to new research.
The research, conducted by budget mobile service provider Amaysim, revealed some disturbing statistics about our “always on” lifestyle.
One in two respondents agree a work/life balance is important but 66 per cent admit they still struggle to find the time for the important things in life like spending time with family and friends (73 per cent) and “me time” relaxation (53 per cent).

Apple has announced it annual Worldwide Developers Conference will run between June 10-14 and may be where the company reveals the new iPhone.
App developers from around the world attend the popular San Francisco event and are given access to Apple’s engineers over the course of the conference.
But apart from news about the latest iOS (iPhone, iPad) and OS X (iMac, MacBook) operating system, Apple usually reveals new hardware at the event as well.
